Hey There

I'm Rahul — a Software Engineering Executive, Leader, and Architect based in Dublin, California, USA.

All About Me

I've spent 20+ years designing and shipping systems that operate at global scale — cloud-native platforms, real-time data pipelines, and production AI systems that handle millions of operations daily. My work sits at the intersection of deep technical architecture and engineering leadership: I design the systems, and I build the teams that build them. Most recently I led platform and infrastructure engineering at Oracle, where I architected cloud services on OCI, built agentic AI platforms using LangGraph and MCP, designed real-time data pipelines across 25,000+ database deployments, and led the engineering organization through a complete DevOps transformation. I'm now focused on my next chapter — working with companies at the frontier of cloud infrastructure and AI.

What I care about

I believe great engineering is both a craft and a discipline. Writing clean, observable, resilient code matters. So does building teams where engineers feel trusted, grow fast, and do the best work of their careers. The two things compound — great engineers build better systems, and better systems give engineers room to grow.I'm particularly energized by the shift happening in software right now. Agentic AI isn't a future trend — it's an infrastructure transition already underway. I've shipped production multi-agent systems that autonomously resolve incidents, RAG pipelines that give non-technical teams self-service access to data, and NL2SQL engines that turn plain English into database queries with 94% accuracy. Building AI that actually works in production — reliably, safely, and at scale — is where I want to spend the next decade.

Outside the Terminal

When I'm not building systems, I'm usually out exploring them — just a different kind.I love hiking and travelling. If I'm not at my desk, there's a good chance you'll find me on a trail in a national park, on a beach somewhere warm, or on a plane to a country I've never been to before. There's something about being in nature or an unfamiliar place that resets the mind in a way no amount of coffee ever can.The Bay Area spoils you for hiking — Point Reyes, Mount Tamalpais, and the Marin Headlands are practically in my backyard — but I'm happiest when the adventure takes me further afield. A distant coastline, a remote mountain trail, or a city I can't quite navigate yet — that's where I want to be.
